California is one of the most biodiverse states in the country. It also has the highest density of ecologists and wildlife biologists in the country, as well as the largest transportation and conservation budgets. At the same time, the state has built relatively few wildlife crossing structures, including only one over-crossing. The conference will bring together scientists, policy-makers and practitioners to share connectivity findings and research, discuss information gaps and needs, and to celebrate the start of an era of wildlife crossings in California.
